How we started, and where we are now.
We initially launched Salontraining.com to connect the beauty industry through our shared love of continuing education. Salontraining.com was a 100% virtual beauty industry educational site that allowed trainers and coaches to hold live classes with beauty professionals.
We quickly realized that it needed to offer more than just live virtual classes. Beauty professionals want and need different options for continuing education and professional development. To accommodate every schedule and lifestyle, beauty professionals require a variety of class types – live online, in-person, and pre-recorded.
So in the fall of 2022, Salontraining launched a completely new model. We now offer events and shows; products, tools, and books; job openings; and of course, all kinds of classes. We now offer not just live virtual classes, but also in-person ones as well, with our library of pre-recorded content currently in development.
We aim to be an all-in-one resource for beauty professionals in all aspects of their careers. This platform is a hub for beauty pros and product companies to learn, network, job hunt, explore, and create.

About our founder
Tracey Napotnik has spent nearly 30 years in the beauty industry, 20 of those as a salon owner. She is always willing to share her professional and personal highs and lows. In the early days of her career, she was no stranger to 80-hour weeks, often paying her team but never having enough to pay herself, even going without heat in her own home. But Tracey used that hardship as a lesson when the going got tough. She refused to give up, and instead decided to get serious about improving her career and the lives of her team. Her passion for continuing education was fueled by seeing the success it brought her and, more importantly, how it was helping her team grow their lives and careers. She realized, “To grow and evolve, one must never stop learning.”
She constantly seeks the advice and lessons of brilliant leaders and motivators. Tracey has studied under Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, Brian Tracey, John Maxwell, Inspiring Champions, and many other well-known beauty industry leaders. In her quest to help others, Tracey studied to be an educator herself and started working with beauty professionals in the business side of salon life. Her training company, Salon Business Time, focused on helping commission-based stylists increase their hourly income with proven systems and ways to track their own success.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tracey took her passion for beauty industry education online with the launch of SalonTraining.com – an innovative, interactive platform for live virtual beauty education courses taught by industry experts as well as upcoming talent. This platform was designed to connect beauty professionals with the people and resources they need to enrich and improve their careers. On September 12, 2022, she is re-launching the SalonTraining platform to include a variety of helpful tools for industry trainers and all beauty professionals. There will now be directories for job listings, shows and events, products and tools, individual trainer listings, and fun interactive contests – all while still staying true to the original purpose of salon education, just with more to offer the industry.
Online courses, coaching, live training classes, and virtual and pre-recorded education, combined with an unmatched determination to help those around her achieve their life goals, have brought Tracey to where she is today. The road to personal and professional success is never easy, but it is always worth it. Tracey continues her mission to make the road to success a little easier for others.
